This little red book with gold letters is the jewel of a mini retrospective dedicated to the work of Gilbert Garcin. This edition brings together a selection of 80 photographs related to his eighty years old this year is accompanied by an exhibition to be held at the gallery Les filles du Calvaire in Paris from 15 October to 21 November 09. Images in which he depicts are bits of humor and absurdity. He gets small stagings with glue and scissors and enters this surreal scenery. |

Gilbert Garcin is a “jeune premier” who this year will be celebrating his eightieth birthday and fifteen years of a dazzling career. We are happy to share this pleasure with his public and his many fans by putting on a retrospective. It may seem absurd, or even out of place, to speak of Monsieur Garcin as a “jeune premier”, but don’t worry, he won’t mind –quite the contrary. He usually responds with a quiet chuckle and the falsely modest delight of the highly respected star that he now is.
