Samakh Erik, born in 1959 in Saint-Georges-de-Didonne is a contemporary artist and a teacher at the college of Art in Aix-en-Provence. His work is recognized internationally since the mid-1980s, mixes new technologies and natural elements, including sound. The technology components (seeds of light, solar flutes …) are used to bring attention to nature.

Many of his works have been carried out on sites such as parks or regional geological reserves (Parc naturel régional de Lorraine, Gorges Riou, Tijuca Forest in Brazil, International Center for Art and Landscape Vassivière, etc.).
