What is the relationship between a portrait and a landscape, a community and a territory? Light meet the photographer Bogdan Konopka, as it shapes reality. It is with this for several weeks that the photographer is immersed in what was the mining area of Nord-Pas de Calais and he left to meet the descendants of Polish immigration of the early twentieth and the smaller and more recent 80 years.
The transformation of the landscape is consistent with that of the community of Polish origin, fragmented, heterogeneous and at the same time a pleasing alertness. Bogdan Konopla has decided to highlight the differences and to share. What is the tenuous thread that connects those animated by a culture through the prism of a legacy passed on sometimes, sometimes lost and want to return, and history alive and torn to those who for economic reasons or policies had to go into exile to continue to exist?
