Les fantômes de Chamrose

This book tells the history of the neighborhood of the gate of Paris in Saint Denis at the time of its transformation in 2014 and around. On the occasion of the construction of the Groupe Scolaire Jacqueline de Chambrun – the Rose Garden, I was invited by the city to build a project with the inhabitants of neighborhoods. I looked for the actors, who live in the neighborhood without necessarily living there. They work there, they cross it, stop there, more or less.
I installed a studio in the school yard and I invited participants to a photo shoot. Everyone told me his story. 60 portraits are now is displayed in the school. The images are printed on lenticular array which allows to appear and disappear one or other of the characters at the option of moving the spectator. These are compounds portraits, fictional associations.
The characters vanish they resist our look like ghosts disappear when one is about to catch them.
I met men and women involved in their neighborhoods, in their own way.

Sylvain Gouraud

Photographe

Sylvain Gouraud is a photographer. He is interested in photography as an object in itself, which it queries the own materiality in relation to disadvantaged social backgrounds and lack of visibility, returning the ultimate effect of this medium ranking that operates generally.
The political aspect is recurrent in the work of Sylvain Gouraud.
This is what allows him to return to his subject, it is a reflection on the organization of our societies.
He uses photography as a fact, a look that sometimes become active: how photography can be the engine of our political actions.
For this, he does not hesitate to involve the public, questioning the notion of copyright, so dear to our time.

Émilie Hache is a lecturer in philosophy at the University of Paris-Nanterre, and author of an environmental philosophy book published in 2011 entitled What we would like. Proposals for a pragmatic ecology. As the title of this work suggests, his interest focuses on the ecology, but an ecology that does not consider the concept of nature is obvious and does not make an exclusive research fields of biology (the scientific ecology).
