"René lives in the Creuse, and John saw in the Morbihan. They do not know, yet they are my two grandfathers. From December 2009 to January 2011, I collected words and images of their respective worlds. Although they are widely separated both geographically and in their personality, I found many similarities among them. the two had a peasant child who has deep roots in the soil. When young, they have chosen to leave one working abroad, the other in Paris, then finally back to live each in their ancestral region. They then share a heightened artistic sensibility. for them, the boundaries between creative action and everyday are fluid. the collection, gleaning, the accumulation is the raw material of their imagination. the fact that they both live reclusive and self-sufficient, having made the choice to open to the world, there is certainly no stranger. these points of convergence lead me to believe that for one as for the other, this "work" is seen as a permanent course, even a necessity. these texts and images are trying to trace the watermark relationship of René and Jean with the creation of poetry and everyday life.
