Jacques Borgetto travels, travels and photography for years in Latin America, a land to which he belongs, and who holds it returns with force and precision, a little inclined to view images.
Sophie Zenon, world traveler, has repeatedly traveled to Asia, including Mongolia, Siberia and Far East Cambodia found, revisited, in his images.
Further away from the exotic and closer to the poetic language, with Françoise and Bernard Plossu Nuñez, the journey becomes sentimental. The places are just excuses and decorations, the real destination is the other. From Mexico to Italy, Greece to Andalusia, their eyes, starting from the same point of view, give a stereoscopic vision, where photography is as much a reflection of inner vision than reality.

Bernard Plossu

Photographe

Plossu Bernard, born in South Vietnam in 1945, he grew up surrounded by photographs of the desert taken by his father when he went skiing on the dunes of the Sahara in 1937 with Roger Frisian-Roche. Modesty, sensuality, emotion, joy, here is what is the “sap” that already permeate the images of the self that landed in Mexico in 1965 and 1967 to join his grandparents. Travel as a Mexican issue 15 years later its editor Claude Nori. A book that, as the creator of Ed. Contrejour has become a sort of bible for a generation suddenly uninhibited by his freedom of tone and its intimate and poetic vision.

Françoise Nuñez

Photographe

Born in Toulouse, Françoise Nuñez loved photography and travel, passions she shared in osmosis with her husband Bernard Plossu and their two children, Joaquim and Manuela. After being assistant to Jean Diezaide, she then tirelessly continues her personal way towards elsewhere. She publishes a dozen books, and is represented by the Camera Obscura gallery. She died in 2021 at the age of 64.

Jacques Borgetto

Originaire du Sambuco, petit village du Piémont (Italie), Jacques Borgetto est né à Paris.

Très jeune, il se passionne pour la photographie, qui l’accompagnera dans chacun de ses voyages. Ce « Baudelaire de l’image », comme le qualifie le journaliste Alain Mingam, sillonne le monde et son époque, d’Europe en Amérique et d’Afrique en Asie, à la rencontre de ses semblables.

Depuis 1975, son travail est régulièrement exposé en France et à l’étranger. Il est lauréat du Vienna International Photo Awards (VIPA) en 2012, et obtient plusieurs résidences d’artiste durant sa carrière. Ses œuvres sont présentes dans les collections permanentes de la Maison Européenne de la Photographie, à la Bibliothèque nationale de France et dans de nombreuses collections privées.

Plusieurs publications lui sont consacrées dans la presse spécialisée.

Il est également l’auteur de cinq ouvrages de photographie : L’homme et l’olivier (Editions du Nol, 1984), Nous avons fait un très beau voyage(Editions Filigranes, 2010), L’autre versant du monde (Editions Filigranes, 2010) Terres foulées (Editions Filigranes, 2011), et Buenos Aires (Editions be-pôles, 2013).

Sophie Zénon

Sophie Zénon was born in France to parents from the lake region of northern Italy. After studying contemporary history, art history, ethnology and Religious Studies on shamanism, she held various jobs (librarian, archivist for television, Editor-in photo agency), before finally turn to photography in 2004. Sophie Zeno alternate work of a documentary approach and visual artist with a fascination for it comes to ritual, the sacred, the mystery. World traveler, she displays her work at first contact with new cultures, including Mongolia, Siberia and Cambodia, before returning to his favorite research topics: loss, memory, transmission.

“An observation laboratory of the territories by the image”
Plate (s) Contact has been positioned as one of the few festivals of creation and a true territory observation laboratory by the image. From the 2019 edition, the Festival opened in the region, offering the invited photographers to explore beyond the city, the coast, the countryside, other urban agglomerations. In parallel, the festival, for ten years laboratory of creation and observatory of evolutions of photographic languages, proposes to deepen the reflection and research on how to present photography. With this goal – and waiting for the opening of Franciscans, which will dedicate an important place to photography throughout the year – the city has been revisited in search of new places, such as Villa Strassburger, the barrier hotel Normandy, or outdoor spaces such as disused buildings, diving, swimming pool … paying particular attention to dialogue between projects and places.
